Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia Hirta) is a fast growning workhorse with very few problems. Its ability to self-seed makes it a great choice for abundant wildflower gardens.
Idoor: Sow thinly in a lightweight soil mix. Cover twice seeds thickness with soil. Press firmly and water. Keep evenly moist but not soggy. As seedlings appear, gradually expose them to light. When large enough to handle, transplant to pots. Harden by gradual exposure to outdoor conditions. After spring frosts transplant to garden 30-90cm (12-36in) apart.
Outdoor:After spring frosts sow thinly to garden 30-90cm (12-36in) apart. Cover 3 times thier diameter with soil. Thin to 20-50cm (8-20in) apart.
